You Have the Authority — Use It!

And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues. Mark‬ ‭16‬:‭17‬ (NKJV).

In a world overwhelmed with fear, uncertainty, and spiritual darkness, here’s a truth that every believer must know: Jesus has given you authority—real, legal, divine authority—over all the power of the enemy. This is not just for pastors, prophets, or evangelists. It’s for you—if you believe.

Think about that. If you gave your life to Christ this today, you already carry His authority. You’ve been given the power of attorney to use His Name. That means you can act on His behalf, speak on His behalf, and command spiritual forces in His Name.

Jesus made this crystal clear, “And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons… Mark 16:17

Did you see that? “Those who believe.” Not those who have titles or position in the church. Not those who’ve been in church for a long time. Just believers. That includes you.

So how much authority do you actually have?

Well, how much power does Jesus have? All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Matthew 28:18.

Not some power. All. In heaven. On earth. That means angels bow to Him. Demons flee from Him. Governments, systems, processes, and even unseen forces of darkness are under His feet. And if they’re under His feet—and you’re His body. Ephesians 1:22-23—they’re under your feet too.

Paul says in The Message translation of Ephesians 1:20-23:

All this energy issues from Christ: God raised him from death and set him on a throne in deep heaven, in charge of running the universe, everything from galaxies to governments, no name and no power exempt from his rule. And not just for the time being, but forever. He is in charge of it all, has the final word on everything. At the center of all this, Christ rules the church. The church, you see, is not peripheral to the world; the world is peripheral to the church. The church is Christ’s body, in which he speaks and acts, by which he fills everything with his presence.

That means the Church—you and me—is central to God’s plan. We’re not weak, powerless bystanders. We’re Christ’s body—His voice, His authority, His presence in the world today.

Why does this matter right now?

Because we’re living in a time where darkness is trying to speak louder than light. But the authority of Jesus hasn’t been weakened by time or culture. He still reigns. And He reigns through you.

So whether you're praying over your home, speaking peace in your city, or casting out fear in your own life—do it in His Name. You don’t have to wait. You don’t have to feel qualified. If you believe, you already have authority.

Let’s walk in that boldness today. Speak His Name. Stand your ground. Declare His Word. The power of Christ is in you. And everything must bow to His Name.

You’re not fighting for victory—you’re enforcing it. You’re not begging for power—you’re walking in it. Because Jesus gave it to you.
