You Are What You Feed On

...the words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life. John 6:63 (NKJV).

You've probably heard the phrase, “You are what you eat.” It’s more than just a health slogan, it’s a spiritual truth. What you feed on determines what becomes part of you. Just as your physical food is absorbed into your body, the same is true for the Word of God and your spirit.

Right now, the world is being shaken — wars, economic uncertainty, moral confusion. People are desperate for stability, truth, and something to anchor their lives. As believers, we must ask ourselves: What are we feeding on in these times? Are we consuming anxiety from the news, or are we digesting life from the Word?

When you take in the Word of God and meditate on it, it moves from your spirit into your mind and even into your physical body. It becomes part of your very being inseparable, unshakable. Why? Because the Word of God is the life of God.

Jesus explained it plainly in the parable of the sower, Luke 8:11 says, The seed is the Word of God. A seed carries life within it. And God’s Word carries His very essence, His power, His wisdom, His nature. Just like Mary received the Word from the angel and conceived Jesus, when we receive and believe God’s Word, something divine begins to grow in us too.

The Bible says in John 1:1, 14 , In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God and the Word became flesh and dwelt among us. That Word is Jesus and now lives in us through the Holy Spirit. And as we meditate on the written Word, it doesn’t just stay on paper. It becomes alive in us. It changes how we think, how we feel, and how we live.

That’s why we are not shaken by what’s going on in the world. The news may change, governments may fall, economies may collapse but the Word of God abides forever, 1 Peter 1:23. And because the Word lives in us, we live and endure with divine strength and purpose.

So ask yourself today: What am I feeding my spirit? In these turbulent times, more than ever, let’s anchor ourselves in the living, powerful Word of God, the only source of life that cannot be shaken. Hallelujah!
