What is The Church's Role in a Broken World?

Yet when we are among the full-grown (spiritually mature Christians who are ripe in understanding), we do impart a [higher] wisdom (the knowledge of the divine plan previously hidden); but it is indeed not a wisdom of this present age or of this world nor of the leaders and rulers of this age, who are being brought to nothing and are doomed to pass away. 1 Corinthians 2:6 (AMPC).

In a world where confusion, and chaos often dominate the headlines, it's easy to feel like darkness is winning. But Scripture shows a very different picture for those who understand the times: the rulers of this age are being brought to nothing. 1 Corinthians 2:6. And here’s the powerful truth—God isn’t doing it from a distance. He’s doing it through us.

The Church isn't meant to be a passive observer waiting for rescue. We are God’s strategy in the earth—His “battle axe and weapons of war,” Jeremiah 51:20. Jesus didn’t just defeat sin and death; He delegated that victory to us. He said, All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go… Matthew 28:18-20. That authority didn’t stay in heaven. It was handed to the Church—to you and me.

This means we don’t have to be intimidated by the darkness around us. When we see injustice, wickedness, or spiritual oppression, we don’t run—we rise. We declare what the Word says: They are brought to nothing. The enemy may roar, but he is already defeated. The greater One lives inside us, 1 John 4:4, and His power surpasses anything this world can rise.

As believers in this generation, we’re not waiting for a move of God—we are the move of God. When we speak, we release heaven’s agenda. When we pray, we shift atmospheres. When we walk in love and truth, we tear down strongholds. Our authority isn't empty; it's Spirit-filled. Our words carry the weight of heaven. We tame storms—natural and spiritual. We confront systems. We shine light where darkness has ruled for too long.

This is the Church age—and the Church has dominion. Not because of who we are in ourselves, but because of who lives in us. The same Jesus who conquered death and rose from the grave now empowers His Body to reign on earth. This isn't just a nice word to say—this is spiritual reality.

And this reign isn’t temporary. Isaiah 9:7 proclaims, Of the increase of His government and peace there shall be no end… God's kingdom is ever-expanding. The Church isn’t shrinking back—it’s rising up in glory, power, and influence until the day Christ returns.

So today, walk boldly. Speak with authority. Live like heaven backs you—because it does. You are part of God’s answer for this generation. Darkness doesn’t get the final word—the Church does.
